On behalf of Pickens High School and the Pickens High School ¡§Pride of Pickens Band¡¨, I welcome you to the 7thh Annual Georgia Marble Marching Festival. It is our plan to provide a positive experience for you and your band program at the Georgia Marble Marching Festival. You are sure to see many fine performances from bands from across the North Georgia and surrounding area. Make yourself at home. We have fine facilities and excellent concessions to make today even better. We will be serving Varsity burgers and dogs in our concession stands, along with Frito Pies and Funnel Cakes.
The director / bus driver hospitality room is located in the school cafeteria. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact one of the Invitational workers and we will be glad to assist. Once again, thank you for joining us today.

Band Classification
Class A (Silver Division) up to 36 winds
Class AA (Silver Division) 37 ¡V 54 winds
Class AAA (Gold Division) 55 ¡V 77 winds
Class AAAA (Gold Division) 78 ¡V 100 winds
Open Class (Gold Division) 101 + winds
Judging will be based on a modified Olympic system. You will have 4 band judges. The lowest score will be dropped and the remaining 3 will be averaged to provide the band score. There will be a separate judge for Color Guard, Drum Major, Percussion and Majorettes/Dance Line.
Awards for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will be given and for Superior and Excellent ratings in each class for the following categories:

Contest Scoring:
80-100 Superior
60-79.9 Excellent
40-59.9 Good
Overall awards will be given for 1st place in Silver and Gold Division for all categories.
Overall Band Awards: Average of all 4 band judges
Band Grand Champion: All Classes ¡V Average of all 4 band judges

Directions to Pickens HS
From Gainesville: Take Hwy 53 through Dawsonville to Pickens County. Turn right at the 4 way stop past the Tate House and Tate Primary School (large marble buildings on left). Hwy 53 turns here also. Travel a few miles towards Jasper. The entrance is on the right marked by a large sign. If you pass the Dairy Queen, you missed it.
From Canton South: Take I75 N to 575N to the first traffic light (HWY 108). Turn right (Citgo station on top of the hill).
Go to the 4 way stop and turn left (Hwy 53). Travel a few miles towards Jasper. The entrance is on the right marked by a large sign. If you pass the Dairy Queen, you missed it.
From Ellijay North: Take 515S to traffic light at Hwy 108. Turn left (Citgo station on top of the hill).
Go to the 4 way stop and turn left (Hwy 53). Travel a few miles towards Jasper. The entrance is on the right marked by a large sign. If you pass the Dairy Queen, you missed it.
You can turn left at McDonald¡¦s and follow Hwy 53 through town. The school is on the left past the Dairy Queen.
From Cumming: Take Hwy 372 through Ballground. Turn right at the dead end traffic light (Hwy 5).
Go to the 4 way stop and go straight (Hwy 53). Travel a few miles towards Jasper. The entrance is on the right marked by a large sign. If you pass the Dairy Queen, you missed it.
